Infinite Ascent: jump away from Jerry Play now

The tower keeps changing its mind

Most climbers hand you one idea and repeat it until you fall. We cut the tower into zones instead. Cross a line in the sky and the rules move under you. Wind pushes you sideways for the whole band. Ice halves your speed without shoving you at all, which is worse than it sounds. Heat does the opposite and you skate straight past the platform you were aiming at. Same jump, same pads, completely different problem. The wind one at least hangs a little wooden sign below itself, so you get one jump of warning.

Then the gates. At 500 points the climb stops for a warm-up: three keys, eight seconds, paid in jump boosts. At 2,000 the real ones start: ten keys, seventeen seconds, go. Clear it and the tower opens up above you into a reward run stuffed with springs, warp pads or side-boosters. Miss it and you get a blizzard, or your left and right swapped, dropped exactly where you were headed. After that they land at 10,000 and every 10,000 above it. The climb is never only the climb.

Jerry

Jerry, the chaser

Jerry is the thing underneath you. He walks. He never stops, never speeds up, never gets bored, and if he reaches you the run is over. You cannot kill Jerry.

What you can do is hit him with a gold ball, which launches him off the top of the screen in a burst of stars. He drops whatever he was carrying on the way out and comes back about thirty units below you. That buys you fifteen seconds, give or take. It is the only punch in the game and it is meant to wear off.

Everybody climbs the same wall

Three boards run at once: today, this week, this month. Every run posts to all three, and it does not matter whether you played in a browser or on a phone. The top scores get drawn across the tower as coloured lines, so you climb up through the number you are chasing and know the exact moment you pass it.

Questions

Is Infinite Ascent free to play?

Yes. The browser version is free and needs no account, and the full game is a free download on the App Store. Skins cost coins you earn by climbing, or you can buy the whole set at once if you would rather not.

Do I need to install anything to play in the browser?

No. It runs in any current browser, desktop or phone. First load pulls about 13 MB and then your browser holds on to it.

What is the difference between the browser version and the app?

The browser gets the whole climb: every zone, the gates, Jerry, the real boards. The app adds the skin shop with progression that sticks, revives when you fall, and a save that follows your account instead of one browser's cache.

How do the leaderboards work?

Three boards run at once, daily, weekly and monthly, and every run posts to all three. They reset at 04:00 UTC, on Mondays, and on the first of the month. Browser and app players are on the same boards, so there is nowhere to hide.

How is this different from Doodle Jump?

The climb is split into zones that change how the game plays rather than how it looks, and score gates interrupt you with timed key hunts that either pay out or punish. Also there is a creature following you up the entire tower, which Doodle Jump does not have.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Touch devices get an on-screen stick, desktop gets arrow keys or A and D. It is portrait-first, which is why this page holds it to a phone-shaped column instead of stretching it across your monitor.

Or put it in your pocket

The browser version is not a slice. It is the whole climb: every zone, every gate, Jerry, the real boards. The app adds the skin shop, a revive when you fall, and a save that outlives your browser cache.
