Infinite Ascent

How to play

Everything you can touch, everything that can touch you, and the three habits that turn a 500 into a 5,000. Updated October 2026.

Moving

The climber

Keyboard: ← → or A D. Click the game once first, or the page keeps your keystrokes.

Phone: drag the stick at the bottom.

No jump button. Every platform bounces you. And if you run off the left edge you come back in on the right, which is a tool and not a glitch: wrapping around the screen is very often the fastest line to the next pad.

What you land on

Normal platform
Normal Bounces you. Most of the tower is these.
Side boost platform
Side boost Bounces you and throws you hard sideways. Aim first.
Spring platform
Spring A much bigger bounce than a normal pad. Free height.
Moving platform
Moving Slides along its own line and takes you with it.
Breakable platform
Breakable One bounce, then it tumbles away without you.
Warp platform
Warp Yanks you 8 to 18 units straight up, no bounce required.

What to grab

Jump boostEvery platform bounces you higher, and they stack. Two or more adds a speed trail and pulls the camera back so you can see what is coming.
Gravity ballGravity roughly doubles for just under three seconds. You drop fast and you land hard. Not a gift.
Blind ballThe screen goes black for two seconds. You keep climbing on memory and hope.
Gold ballLaunches Jerry off the top of the screen and makes him drop whatever he was holding. Your one free punch.
MagnetDrags every loose pickup to you for thirteen seconds. Only Jerry drops it, and it will not bring you a gravity ball, because we are not monsters.

The gates

First gate is at 500: three keys, eight seconds. Every gate after that is ten keys in seventeen. Keys hang above platforms and restock ahead of you, so climb into them. Dropping back down for one key costs more than the key is worth, every single time. Clear the gate and a reward run opens above you. Miss it and you get a blizzard or flipped controls.

Three habits worth more than any pickup

Read the sign. Wind zones hang a wooden sign below the boundary with the direction on it. Start drifting into the gust before you cross and your first jump inside is free. Cross without looking and it costs you the next two.

Let the gold ball go. Yes, it is 500 points and it gets rid of Jerry. A gold ball three platforms off your line has still ended more runs than Jerry ever has. Take it when it is on the way and only then.

Stack your boosts. They stack, and at two or more the camera pulls back and shows you more of the tower. Two boosts is worth a lot more than twice one boost.

Questions

Is Infinite Ascent free to play?

Yes. The browser version is free and needs no account, and the full game is a free download on the App Store. Skins cost coins you earn by climbing, or you can buy the whole set at once if you would rather not.

Do I need to install anything to play in the browser?

No. It runs in any current browser, desktop or phone. First load pulls about 13 MB and then your browser holds on to it.

What is the difference between the browser version and the app?

The browser gets the whole climb: every zone, the gates, Jerry, the real boards. The app adds the skin shop with progression that sticks, revives when you fall, and a save that follows your account instead of one browser's cache.

How do the leaderboards work?

Three boards run at once, daily, weekly and monthly, and every run posts to all three. They reset at 04:00 UTC, on Mondays, and on the first of the month. Browser and app players are on the same boards, so there is nowhere to hide.

How is this different from Doodle Jump?

The climb is split into zones that change how the game plays rather than how it looks, and score gates interrupt you with timed key hunts that either pay out or punish. Also there is a creature following you up the entire tower, which Doodle Jump does not have.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Touch devices get an on-screen stick, desktop gets arrow keys or A and D. It is portrait-first, which is why this page holds it to a phone-shaped column instead of stretching it across your monitor.
